The Botany Swarm will welcome four new imports for the 2017 season; three forwards and one defenseman.
Defenseman Petr Zítka hails from the Czech Republic, and is a 6'1 left-handed shot. He has played the previous ten seasons in the Czech U18 and U20 leagues, before moving between the Czech 2nd and 3rd divisions with SK Horacka Slavia Trebic, HC Chotebor and HC Havlickuv Brod.

The Botany Swarm are delighted to welcome our first import for the 2016 NZIHL season, Swedish forward David Lindgren!
At 6'1, David adds some additional size to the Swarm roster, and is a hard-working forward with strong offensive skills. As a veteran of 150+ games in the Swedish second division he brings plenty of experience and a strong work ethic.

The City Hotel is no longer able to provide accommodation for our imports, so for this season we need families willing to host our imports. The billet families will be expected to provide a room and meals for 3-4 months while the imports are here and in return the billet player will be expected to pay a monthly amount and abide by house rules.

The Swarm are excited to add right-handed centerman Andrew Hamburg for the 2015 season.
At 6'3", Andrew adds extra size and strength to the Swarm squad. He has previously played brief stints with the Texas Tornado of the North American Hockey League, the San Francisco Bulls of the ECHL, and in Europe with HC Banska Bystrica, the Tonsberg Vikings, and Skien IHK.

The Botany Swarm are happy to add to our 2015 roster another import from the growing hockey hotbed of Northern California. This season Oakland-born goaltender Frankie McClendon joins the Swarm from the Parry Sound Islanders of the Canadian GMHL.
The 22-year old goalie stands 5'11", and credits his ability to be quick with his feet and make sound technical saves as key to his talents in net. He prides himself on battling for the puck and never giving up, out-waiting shooter...Read Full Post »

New to the Swarm in 2015 will be Myles Debol, from Michigan, USA.
Myles' strengths as a player are his snap shot and slap shot. He has had a great deal of training on shooting and stick-handling, benefiting from growing up with lessons from his father Dave Debol, who played three seasons with the NHL's Hartford Whalers.
At 6'4", Myles has plenty of size and strength to bring to the ice, along with deceptive speed for his size.

The Botany Swarm are excited to welcome back Brandon Contratto, their 2013 and 2014 team leading scorer, for his third NZIHL season.
In 32 games with the Swarm, Brandon has posted 93 points (46 goals, 47 assists). The Swarm are thrilled to announce that returning as an import player for the 2015 season will be Canadian defenseman Garrett Ferguson, the Swarm's 2014 MVP award winner.
With a strong first year on the Swarm's blueline, Garrett averaged just over a point per game while playing a consistently strong two-way game.
