Ian Wannamaker has announced that he has chosen to step down as Botany Swarm Head Coach and will not be available for the upcoming 2019 season.
Ian says: “It is with a degree of sadness that I am announcing I will be stepping down from the role of Head Coach of the Botany Swarm. After long and careful deliberation, I need to concentrate on my family, and my career as priorities in my life right now.”
The Botany Swarm family, fans, players and management would like to thank Ian for his coaching services to the club over the past season. His commitment and dedication to not only the team, but to the wider hockey community has reflected his passion he has for ice hockey in New Zealand.
We all wish Ian and his family all the very best for the future – we are sure that we will still see them around the Botany rink at some stage.
As a result of Ian’s announcement, the Botany Swarm management are now seeking expressions of interest from individuals who would like to apply for the position of Botany Swarm Head Coach during the 2019 NZHIL season.
