First Period
There was plenty of back and forth action in the opening twenty minutes of this game, with each side getting their chances.
Unfortunately, the Swarm got themselves into some penalty trouble and gave up a powerplay goal on what would’ve been a lengthy 5-on-3. That was the only goal of the period, with the Swarm able to kill off the rest of the penalty and getting some dangerous shots in the offensive zone at even strength.
The Swarm trail 1-0 against the Admirals after a fast first period.
Second Period
The visitors scored early in the period to bring things out to a 2-0 lead, but this time the Swarm were able to capitalise themselves almost immediately, with Reid Cole scoring off assists by Stephen Mawson and Gavin Pucket. The 2-1 score held for less than a minute before the Admirals added a third goal, another powerplay tally from Harrop.
The action was fast and furious throughout the period, with the Swarm getting some strong offensive zone pressure to close out the period, and a late powerplay chance.
The Swarm still trail after the second, with the score standing at 3-1 to the Admirals.
Third Period
Plenty of chances and a lot of shots for the home side kept things exciting, and the Swarm were also able to kill off a few more penalties successfully, but it wasn’t until the final two minutes that they were able to convert on a powerplay chance of their own, playing 6 against 4 with the goalie pulled as Ondrej Kozak redirected a shot from Sandoy to get the Swarm on the board again.
A frantic final minute followed, with the Swarm aiming to repeat their efforts against the Devils in the last game but this time they were unable to get the tying goal before running out of time at the final buzzer.
Despite a flurry of chances and a late goal to bring the score within one, the Swarm lose this one tonight with the final score 3-2 in favour of the Admirals.
