First Period
The visitors got on the board early, with Daigle scoring just 20s after the opening puck drop. Some fast and furious action followed, with no scoring for either side, before the Admirals forced a turnover behind the net, with Coslett scoring short-handed, before the Swarm clawed one back with a powerplay goal from Michael Attwell shortly afterward.
The Swarm will start period two with just under 20s of powerplay time remaining. A rougher start today for the Swarm, who trail the Admirals 2-1 after the first period.
Second Period
Despite several good chances on the powerplay, the Swarm were unable to put another past Kercso-Magos in the second period. The only tally of the frame came from Ellis on a delayed penalty, although the Swarm were able to kill off the remaining penalty time in the period. After 40 minutes, the Swarm trail 3-1 to the Admirals.
Twenty minutes of regulation left to get back in this one, let’s go Swarm!
Third Period
The Admirals pressed on hard in the final frame, with goals from Coslett and Challis to take the score to 5-1. The Swarm were able to add one more on a 6-on-4 powerplay with the goalie pulled, as Polozov put one in on a bad angle from below the goal line.
The Swarm never faltered in trying to even things up, and pulled the goalie again with just under two minutes in regulation, before Shaun Harrison added the dagger with the Admirals’ final goal. A tough home opener for the Swarm, falling to the Admirals in regulation with a final score of 6-2.
