The two teams traded power play chances to no avail early in the period, but back and forth play saw no change in the scoreline until late in the first when Michael Attwell scored to give the Swarm a lead.
After the first period, the Swarm lead 1-0 over the Admirals.
A much more hectic second period saw the Swarm enjoy a five minute power play, including a period of 5-on-3 in which some excellent tic-tac-toe passing by the power play unit saw Ondrej Kozak capitalise with a tap-in right in front of the crease, assisted by Sandoy and Polozov.
The Swarm continued to defend strongly, assisted by some five-bell saves from goaltender Matt Canaday, and the visitors seemed to have the majority of the pressure throughout the period. With just under a minute remaining in the period, the Admirals were able to break the deadlock and score their first of the game, leaving the score at 2-1 and setting up for a huge third period at Paradice Avondale.
The Swarm lead 2-1 over the Admirals after forty minutes.
No goals scored by either side in the final frame, but this win puts the Swarm into the third-place spot in the standings.
With a huge effort and great commitment to defense in the third period, the Swarm take a three point regulation win over the Admirals in their barn, with a final score of 2-1.
